After a transfer press the F5-Key inside Windows Explorer to see the newly transferred files or folders.
First ensure that the receiver's time (time/date settings) does not differ much from the sender's. Otherwise you may transfer a file which seems to be newer, but really is not because the receiver's time may have been different from the sender's by a few days. Always adjust your time of every computer at least monthly! Do not use different time zone settings.
With Powercopy you can also connect older computers together. The following combinations have been tested, however; Datapower makes no legal claims that this will work in every case. Because of several Win9x OS bugs, there may be problems when converting from long to short file names between DOS6.2/WfW and WIN95/98 if the first 6 characters of 2 filenames are identical. Always try to use different filenames at the first 6 characters. Long file names will be lost in this case. Long filename directory names cannnot be transfered to an WfW or DOS6.2 client. Rename the long folder name to a short "8.3" one.

The ECP-interface has been designed for a maximum cable length of 5 meters (16 ft.). During out testing we used a cable length of 16 meters without any errors and almost no loss in speed. We suggest using a cable length of <= 5 meters.
Some programs keep the files locked, so that other programs like Powercopy cannot get a read or write permission for these files. Some file access errors may also occur. Often it is useful to press the F5-Key inside Explorer. Sometimes this unlocks a file handle.
During start of Powercopy the system registry will be parsed dynamically to get the current Windows Parallel interface configuration. The interface will be detected automatically, but if errors occur (none reported to date), then the speed buttons will be disabled. Powercopy then tries to get the values by itself. If there is more than 1 Parallel interface installed see next header.
Powercopy always uses the first found PnP parallel port interface. If you want to use an other you can disable the PnP scan by enabling "noPnPscan" switch inside the pc_ovwr.ini configuration file. Remove the ';' of '; noPnPscan' and always uncheck the use win standard settings during dialog based transfers. But the best way is to transfer it using the commandline switches. There you have the maximum freedom and you can specify evers port base adress you want(e.g. /useP378-I5-D2).
If a transfer ends with an error you will get the following error message: "If you need more details on your error please contact us by e support-hotline@datapower.de".
